Legal Strategy Session and Flat-Fee Full Immigration Legal Services
Ackah Business Immigration Law offers two payment options for our professional advice and immigration services to fit your needs so you are never surprised or unprepared:
We charge a flat fee for standard immigration cases. As experienced immigration lawyers, we know exactly how much work goes into immigration applications and can charge accordingly. We use technology to streamline and introduce efficiencies that save our clients time, and prevent missed deadlines and missing documentation. Our clients prefer flat-fee billing so they’re never surprised or caught unprepared by hidden fees; what you’re quoted for is what you end up paying.
For complex cases, or where the time involved in a case may vary, we establish an hourly fee. This is simply because we may have to spend more time on such cases to obtain favourable outcomes. Other times, clients merely want us to answer questions, review documentation, or explain their options; therefore, it makes more sense to charge per legal strategy session.
In addition to “fees” for professional costs, you may need to pay for “costs.” These include things like filing fees charged by immigration services as well as express mail, photo-copy and long-distance charges, etc. We’ll always tell you what’s included in the quoted price and provide you with an estimate of additional costs.

- Due to the Handover, many Hong Kong residents have lived in, visited or even hold permanent resident status in Canada as dual residents with Canadian and HKSAR passports.
- Hundreds of thousands of Hong Kongers reside in Canada, and over 500,000 Canadian passport holders live in Hong Kong, resulting in a strong relationship between the countries.

1. Do I need an Immigration Lawyer when immigrating to Vancouver?
While there is no requirement for you to hire a lawyer to immigrate to Vancouver, it does have benefits. The entire process of obtaining permanent residence can be long and stressful, and having the right lawyer can streamline proceedings and save you time, stress - and money. Canadian immigration law changes regularly. To avoid costly delays and mistakes, it's best to hire a professional immigration lawyer to help you.
-
2. How do I apply for a Permanent Residency (PR) Card?
New permanent residents receive their PR cards by mail as part of the PR application process and do not need to apply for one. If your card is going to expire or was lost, stolen, or destroyed, you can apply to renew or replace it through the Canadian immigration website.
-
3. What Are the Immigration Requirements For Investors, Entrepreneurs and Self-employed Individuals?
- Minimum investor requirements vary from C$75,000 to over C$500,00 in Canada dependent on the immigration program, but investors are not required to manage their investment day-to-day once they arrive.
- Entrepreneurs have to invest in and help manage a Canadian business. The business must create at least one job for someone apart from a member of their immediate family.
- Self-employed individuals are selected on their intention and ability to create employment for themselves. They must either work in a cultural field or athletic occupation or buy and manage a farm in Canada.
-
4. Do I need to invest my own money for a Canada Investor Visa?
Besides the Federal Start-up Visa and Self-Employed programs, most streams of Canadian business immigration require capital investment from your personal net worth.
-

To apply for Canadian citizenship, you have to be a permanent resident, have lived in Canada for three out of the last five years, filed your taxes, pass a citizenship test and prove your language skills.
-
6. What is the Start-up Visa Program?
The Start-up Visa Program enables immigrant entrepreneurs to launch innovative companies that will create jobs in Canada to compete globally. It links immigrant entrepreneurs with Canadian private-sector groups experienced in scaling start-ups to provide essential business resources and support.
If you wish to immigrate to Canada with a Start-up Visa, you need to secure a minimum investment of $200,000 from an approved organization or at least $75,000 from a designated angel investor. However, if your business is accepted into a business incubator program, then you do not need to secure an investment.
