Key Points of the Alberta Tourism and Hospitality Stream
The Alberta Tourism and Hospitality stream is for individuals who have been working in tourism and hospitality for 6 months or more, and have a valid full-time, non-seasonal job offer from an approved employer in the tourism industry.
Apply to the Alberta Tourism and Hospitality stream via the AAIP portal.
- Target Audience: Temporary foreign workers currently living and working in Alberta's tourism and hospitality industry.
- Goal: Address labour shortages in the province's tourism sector.
- Eligibility:
- A minimum 6 months of experience in a relevant tourism/hospitality role.
- Valid full-time job offer from an approved Alberta employer in the same industry.
- Currently residing in Alberta with a valid work permit with a positive LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment).
- Application Process: Apply directly through the AAIP portal.
- Benefits: Offers a pathway to permanent residency in Alberta.
- Timeline: Launched March 1, 2024, with a limited number of applications being accepted.
- The maximum number of initial applications has been met and applications are closed for now.
- The next intake stage will be opened once these applications have been reviewed.
- Check back for information on the second intake phase.
Processing will be prioritized by the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).
Note: If you have an existing AAIP application as of March 1, 2024, you are not eligible to apply to the Tourism and Hospitality Stream.
