FSW and CEC Express Entry Draws Return July 6

For the first time since December 2020, Canada has sent invitations to overseas applicants for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). For the Express Entry draw return July 6, the draw considered candidates in all Express Entry programs:

In the July 6 Express Entry draw for immigration to Canada, 1,500 candidates were issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency to Canada, and the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off threshold for this draw was 557 points. Canada's Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said,
“Today, I am pleased to announce that Express Entry draws have officially resumed and applications will be processed at our 6 month processing standard. I look forward to welcoming skilled workers who will are essential in addressing Canada’s labour shortages.”

The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) Express Entry draws temporarily stopped in December 2020 due to the pandemic staffing restrictions and border closures. On April 22, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) announced that Invitations to Apply would resume in early July, and the vast majority of new applications will be processed within the 6-month service standard.

The Canadian government plans to increase annual Express Entry admissions to more than 110,000 immigrants in 2024. The Federal Skilled Worker Program has been Canada’s most popular economic immigration program for over 50 years.
