We're pleased to announce that Michael Nerbas has joined the Ackah Law team as an Associate focusing on immigration and refugee law. Michael believes in a client-centered approach to practicing law and will work closely with you to determine your immigration needs and develop strategies to help you achieve your goals. He also advises corporate and individual clients on a variety of immigration options.
Experience
Michael was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba but turned West to pursue his dream job with Ackah Law. During his time in law school, Michael developed a passion for assisting refugee claimants. He previously worked for Legal Aid Manitoba where he assisted asylum-seekers. As a result of his passion, Michael co-founded a law school volunteer program allowing law students to assist refugee claimants. His efforts and enthusiasm were instrumental in furthering awareness of the legal struggles faced by refugees in Canada.
Michael continues to maintain strong relationships with the newcomer community in the prairie provinces, including Alberta. These relationships are crucial to his success, as it allows Michael to tailor his legal services to his client’s needs.
Michael articled at a law firm in Winnipeg, Manitoba that specialized in litigation. As a result, Michael has appeared before multiple levels of Court. This experience has proven to be invaluable to his immigration practice.
