What Is NEXUS?

NEXUS is a trusted traveller program that allows pre-approved members to have expedited crossing of the Canada-United States border without having to go through the traditional customs process. Membership for NEXUS is valid for five years and offers expedited Customs clearance at both the Canadian and American border.

Approved NEXUS members undergo a background and security check and are deemed low-risk travellers by both Canada and the United States and given faster customs and immigration processing when crossing the US/Canada border.

Program members have access to dedicated processing lanes at designated northern border ports of entry and NEXUS kiosks when entering Canada by air and Global Entry kiosks when entering the United States via Canadian Preclearance airports. NEXUS members also receive expedited processing at marine reporting locations.

Benefits of NEXUS Pass:

  • Avoid long lines and delays with access to expedited NEXUS-dedicated lanes in the United States and Canada
  • Self-serve NEXUS kiosks at designated international airports
  • Cross the border with expedited screening and without routine customs and immigration questioning
  • Simplified car entry process using dedicated vehicle lanes at 21 designated land border crossings
  • NEXUS card can be used in place of a passport if you are flying between the US and Canada
